I feel like this would be an interesting research topic because it deals with a very important issue in today's world. It discusses how the United States vowed never to let another Holocaust or Rwanda incident occur and yet the U.S. and U.N. are reluctant to send humanitarian armies in to help out. One main reason being because the armies are being used to fight off terrorism. I think one way that I can narrow the topic down would be to focus on the efforts or lack there of made by the U.S. or the United Nations, not both. The reasoning for this being that the reasons for each taking action (or not taking action) could be very numerous and different. I think it would be best to focus on one side of the battle.

I found this topic to be interesting because it is a major issue in schools today. The majority of schools teach abstinence only and the results are not turning out what they want them to be. I think that looking further into the issue would bring to light the political and religious trends fighting against a "safe-sex" ed class. To narrow the topic down I could focus on specific regions of the U.S. or a specific state, but I think I would want to analyze the U.S. as a whole.

This source discusses the impact that foul language and deragotory terms in hip hop has for the African American community. I think whis would be a good research topic because it is so controversial. To narrow this topic down I think I should pick a time frame of which to research hip hop music and how it was and is percieved by people.
