1. The different types of data that I need to collect are mainly some form of statistics. Including;
- teenage pregnancy rate over the years
- rate of teenage STD spread over the years
- teenage contraceptive use
- rates of teenage participation in oral sex over the years
2. I do not know specifically where and how I will locate information on the above listed topics. I plan on conducting a lot of research online looking at different journals, reports, and articles. I will use different online search engines and web browsers to find websites that lead to good information on my topic. I plan on using CQ Researcher, the ERIC database, and the Gale Virtual Reference Library. Seeing as the information topics are all related articles I find one one topic will more than likely discuss other sub-topics I have or offer me other websites that I can go to to get more information.
3. My deadline is pretty much made for me; the syllabus. I mean I cannot miss any of the dates so I have to make sure that my research and homework are done by that time. I see why this is a valuable step to learning to write a research paper; but for this class since it is so short and compacted we don't really have the luxury to pace ourselves when doing our research. It's not like we have a whole semester or x-amount of months to write this paper; therefore have to set up a time line to make sure we get it done by then. Basically I plan on following the syllabus and doing extra research when I have free time so I can put the paper together by the deadline. I work a lot and so I know I will be doing a lot of research before and after work as well as the rare days I get off. I plan on tackling this research topic by researching my specific sub-topics separately and then putting all the information together in a consistent/flowing research paper.
