- There were several different steps I took for completing WP #1. First of all, with the previous assignments I tried to focus them on the issue of abstinence-only sex education that way when it came to the first writing proposal I had a good idea of what I wanted to write about. Prior to tackling WP#1 I also made sure to read it over a few times, making sure I knew what exactly was expected and desired for this assignment. I also gave myself ample amount of time to complete the project in. I sat down and finished it in one sitting. I knew if I started and stopped and started and stopped, I would lose focus and it would not have turned out so well. I think for the next writing assignment I should allow myself a good amount of time and also research a little bit more on Annotated Bibliographies so I have a stronger knowledge of them. I feel if I wait till I actually do the project to look into these things I will take up a lot of unnecessary time and get frustrated while doing so.
- In this writing project I am most proud about my presentation. I believe that I presented my topic strongly and clearly. I think this is good because It makes reading my paper easier for my readers. They also don't have to ask too many questions about what exactly I meant about something etc. because I clearly stated my purpose. I also am proud that it is a topic that I feel strongly about. The thing I was most concerned with writing this project was the research time line. With working 40 hours a week + and trying to spend time with my family and do an online class I have no idea when exactly I will have time to research etc. So when this project asked for a research timeline I had no idea. All I know for certain is that when I get free time it will most definitely be spent researching and doing homework. That really is the only concern I had. Other than that this writing project was not too terrible. I think it will be very useful in the writing of our final paper. It is a great organizational tool.
- In TurnItIn.com I did not get any reports. It says 2%, but that's it. And I don't know what that stands for. My paper does not have any highlights or anything like that on it. I guess for this assignment TurnItIn.com just wasn't all that helpful. Maybe next time.
- During this writing project I specifically worked on organization and clearly stating my purpose. I think that those two things are very important to a good research project. Since this writing project was a research proposal I thought that the more organized my writing was and the more clearly my purpose was stated, the better it would be for the reader (as well as myself later down the road when actually writing the paper). I think I did succeed in improving my organization skills and stating my purpose clearly because I spent a lot of time rummaging through my thoughts making sure to state things exactly like I wanted to in a very clear way. For the next writing project I will implement what I have learned about organization as well as focusing on specifics. By this I mean pay very close attention to detail. I feel that since WP#2 is an Annotated Bibliography it will be very very important to follow APA format and get all the details right.
- I am not 100% sure about what specifically the course outcomes are. I can't seem to find them in the syllabus. But I worked hard on this assignment to make sure I included all of the requirements and make sure it would be useful to me in writing WP#3. I feel like I did a good job. I worked hard and believe it turned out well.
